happy winter solstice...

actually my family is not big on these 'additional celebrations' of the chinese... that was why the mother did not even bother to call me to see if i'm eating anything special or if i had the opportunity to eat the 'tong-yuen' (glutinous rice balls) on this special day, even tho wikipedia dubbed the dongzhi (winter solstice festival) as one of the most important festivals celebrated by the chinese.

but housemate M is really a gem. she made sure housemate P and i get older by one year (as the chinese believe) by preparing us these glutinous rice balls... 3 balls with 3 different fillings each - peanut, red bean and black sesame. really a good wife in the making, huh that gal! kakaka...
