what i've been up to lately...

hmm... what have i been up to ar? mostly work, work and more work... cny coming, so need to get all the pending job out before the long break. i hope i won't need to turn on my notebook once during the whole duration. keke... fat hopes lar!

other than work, been ingesting the latest and hottest TVB drama series --> the gem of life. blame it all on N for getting me hooked! coz she's my official supplier lar.

but even though i'm watching so much of drama series lately, my hands were not idle ok? i've been crocheting! hehe... lately i've been itching to pick up the hook again. so watch this space for my latest project, ya!

oh, and i've been bz with practices... first was for the new year performance. then immediately after that, we started practicing for a performance for this coming sunday --> klpac open day. so we've been practicing hard, even tho' it's so near cny and all other gakkai activities have stopped.

ok, just a short 'report' for now... gotta get back to the grind!

movie: 10 promises to my dog

actually, this is a movie i watched a few weeks back with M, N, and N's 2 little nieces. and gosh, how we cried like mad! in fact, the whole cinema was crying!

i think for anyone who loves dogs and who has ever had a dog in their life, or any pet for that matter, would totally understand and relate to this movie.

this is basically a simple enough movie, dealing with a girl's journey through life and her little companion by her side. actually, i think it's the other way round... a dog's journey through life with his/her owner (i just realized that we don't know if Socks is a male or a female!).

anyway, this really reminded me of my chewie, and made me miss her sssooooo SO much! and of all the promises to her that i broke... :'( i cried so hard in that cinema that i had a headache afterwards! and it's so hard watching sad movies in the cinemas coz we have to tahan ourselves so as not to cry too loud and disturb other ppl! haha... halfway through the movie, i wanted to stand up and shout to M and N, "haiya! next time don't watch this kinda movie in the cinema lar!!" :P

august rush: a painfully beautiful movie

actually i saw this movie a couple of months back and fell in love with it. it was a borrowed pirated copy of yw's and have been looking to buy my own copy in all the shops since... but seems like it's not such a popular movie, coz even pasar malam dun sell it!

then saw it in speedy video last week, so i bought it immediately. and watched it again last night... can't get enough if it!

the movie practically oozes with romance in a fairy tale fantasy kinda way, so it's not so logical in real life. but it's really painfully beautiful. and the music! the mix of rock and roll and classical music is simply amazing!

go get a copy of august rush and watch it! and pls support original... it's only RM16.90 in speedy video!

mamma mia! fever!

*yawn* where has the raya holidays gone to??? *sigh* back to the grindstone...

anyway, still giddy over mama mia! from wed movie outing with some friends! oh, love it love it love it! even tho' abba is not from my generation, but their songs are sorta like my 'childhood songs', coz it's what my parents listened to when i was young, so they're very familiar to me.

and, their songs are so evergreen, they never really go out of style. u can still hear them on the radio, and NOT only in the 'oldies' channels, mind u!

well, actually the story line of this movie is quite simple... some parts are a bit lame... but i really enjoyed the songs, even the bollywood-style dancing! haha... my friends and i were practically singing along to the songs, and i'd have jumped up from my seat to jive along if it weren't for the fact that i was in a cinema full of ppl and also that i'm no dancing queen! ;P

oh, and pierce brosnan is so SO so yummy! i practically swooned when he first appeared on the screen, and was drooling the whole show thru! hehehe... but when he started singing, i went like, "eh?" i think he should just stick to acting and leave the singing to others lar.

all in all, we totally enjoyed the show... ok, "we" as in the 3 gals in our group. the rest of the 8 guys thot it were kinda boring. i think maybe it's because the movie is a chick-flick (is it?) and also, they're all chinese-ed, who did not grow up with these songs.

anyway, i'm definitely gonna catch the musical when they come to kl in dec! having missed broadway's 'beauty & the beast' in june/july, i thot i won't be going for any this year. but woo-hoo! one more musical to my collection, making it a pathetic total of 5 (not including the disney on ice)! hehe...
